Love the blog, Mark. I could not agree more with your thoughts about billboards. I often drive by them and don’t have a clue what they’re promoting. They’re too text heavy and not very visual. Yuck.
I’ve always thought that the best billboards for the TV news business would be those with removable, velcro heads. As soon as one anchor leaves, you could just slap up the new head. Brilliant!
Keep up the good work. We’d love to get together with you and your “bride” soon 🙂

Thanks for forwarding your blog to Mike. We drove across South Dakota last week – I90, especially westbound, is amazing because of the sheer number of billboards, never mind the number of words on each! I wish we’d thought to count them, or at least have the girls count them rather than keeping track of each sisters’ travel transgressions.
This is great. You’re on my favorites!
Mark,
I’ve enjoyed reading your blog. You have some really good insights.

Loved your blog (9.17.09) about taglines and branding lines. I think you helped engineer our Four Oaks tagline, “Expect Success.” We have used that over and over again and it has become a beacon, not only for external audiences but also to help motivate employees internally. Thanks Mark!
Love your blog. Not sure I understand the article on wine labels, however. Remember, I am an advertising novice. I was wondering if you could show me the label from a bottle of wine from your cellar, maybe a Silver Oak, Caymus, or Saddleback Cabernet to dramatize your point. I am a very visual person. Sniffing the bottle’s boquet would surely enhance my appreciation of your article even more. As I consider the implications of what your saying I imagine tasting the wine and having the tactile feeling and taste of the wine while examining its label would promote even more understanding. I shudder to think just how I much could learn comparing the labels on several bottles of your wine. Your post was a great start but I have a feeling there is so much more to learn!
Love the Thank You Note blog. Thanks, Mark!

Thanks!
I love your blog but wish you had at least one picture of yourself that was not upside down!
